This open celestine geode reveals an interior filled with a cluster of crystals in cool bluish-grey tones, framed by a pale greyish-white shell with a raw, granular texture. Celestine is a strontium sulphate, and its delicate blue colour is linked to natural defects within the crystal structure. The translucent, tabular crystals reflect the light, giving the form depth and a calm, mineral character.

Celestine is a soft and brittle material, and its colour may fade in direct sunlight. The geode should be protected from moisture and cleaned only with a dry, soft brush.
